ShroomSeeker ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the ShroomSeeker mobile application collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account or sign in, we collect your email address and a unique user identifier through our authentication provider, Supabase. If you sign in with Apple, we receive only the identifiers Apple provides (a private relay email if you chose to hide your email).
Data stored on your device. Your routes, mushroom finds, polygons, photos attached to finds, and any notes you write are stored locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to our servers.
Health data. If you grant permission, ShroomSeeker reads your workout and step data from Apple Health, and writes hiking workouts back to Apple Health. Health data never leaves your device.
Location. ShroomSeeker uses your device location, including in the background, to record your hiking routes and mark mushroom finds. Location data is stored only on your device.
Map service telemetry. ShroomSeeker uses Mapbox to render maps. Mapbox may collect anonymous telemetry to improve its services. See Mapbox's privacy policy at https://www.mapbox.com/legal/privacy.
2. How We Use Information
We use account information solely to authenticate you and provide app functionality. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or tracking across other apps or websites.
3. Sharing
We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for their own purposes. We use the following service providers:
- Supabase — authentication and account storage
- Mapbox — map rendering and tiles
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store, TestFlight, HealthKit
4. Data Retention
Account information is retained for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account by contacting us at ilikecherryjam@gmail.com. On-device data is retained until you delete it or uninstall the app.
5. Children's Privacy
ShroomSeeker is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information by emailing ilikecherryjam@gmail.com.
7. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
